Home Inspection Services & North Idaho Radon Levels Testing

At Northern Home Inspection, we offer comprehensive home inspection services throughout Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Bonners Ferry, and nearby communities. In addition to complete structural and systems evaluations, we focus on radon testing—an essential safety check for homes in North Idaho.

What is radon? Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that emanates from the soil. It is invisible, odorless, and tasteless, yet it can accumulate inside homes, particularly in basements and lower levels. Prolonged exposure to elevated radon levels is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.

Why test for radon in North Idaho? Much of our region is situated on granite-rich soil and rock formations that result in higher radon levels. Homes in Bonner, Boundary, and Kootenai counties are recognized as areas where radon is prevalent. Since radon levels can differ from house to house—even among neighbors—the only reliable way to determine if your home is safe is to conduct a test.

We provide precise, professional radon testing as part of our home inspection services or as a standalone offering, ensuring you have peace of mind when buying, selling, or residing in your home.
